China Utilizes Foreign Funds Worth US$ 320 Bln in 20 Years

Related statistics show that by the end of this past July, China had become home to a total 353,704 foreign-funded enterprises with the investors coming from more than 180 countries and regions across the world. The volume of contractual foreign investment exceeded US$ 641.7 billion and paid-in funds surpassed US$ 54 billion.

In the 10 years since 1989, the number of foreign-funded enterprises in China increased by 13 times with the total investment surged 17.5 times, registered capital by nearly 18-fold, and the number of employees by 13.5-fold.

Sources say that since 1993, China,a developing country, has attracted the most foreign investment for seven straight years. Currently, nearly 400 of the world's 500 largest transnational companies have established enterprises in China. The import and export volume of foreign-funded enterprises has accounted for about a half of China's national total. The number of the employees of foreign-funded enterprises takes up around one-tenth of non-agricultural labor population of the country.
