Chinese Vice-Premier Meets Olympic Delegation
Chinese vice-premier
Li Lanqing
Friday met with the nation's Olympic delegation at the Great Hall of the People.
Li represented the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, of whose Political Bureau Standing Committee he is a member, and the State Council to send sincere greetings and best wishes to the Sydney-bound athletes.
Li encouraged the Chinese athletes to compete in the Sydney Games with full enthusiasm and fighting spirit and to go for glory for their country.
The Sydney Olympics run from September 15 through October 1.
