China to Accelerate Reform Process of Marketization

China will take more forceful steps to speed up the reform process of marketization, to adapt to the new situation following China's accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO), a senior trade official said in Xiamen Friday.

Shi Guangsheng, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, made this remark at the Fourth China Fair for International Investment and Trade, which opened in the port city of Xiamen Friday.

He said the Chinese government will take more forceful measures to further open the market for trade in goods and trade in services.

China will, according to the WTO rules and its commitments in bilateral agreements, enhance legal construction and intensify the revising of policies and regulations on foreign investment in a step-by-step and planned manner to improve the transparency of policies and regulations, and further perfect the legal system for foreign investment.

China will continue to reinforce law enforcement on intellectual property right protection, quicken the exercise of national treatment to foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs) and protect the legitimate rights and interests of FIEs and its laborers in accordance with law through the improvement of legislation and intensified law enforcement, he said.

He noted that the Chinese government will conduct administration according to law, strengthen management and exert itself to set up a clean and highly-effective administrative system.
