First Batch of Chinese Olympians Entered Olympic Village

The Chinese gym team, which arrived at Newcastle for adaptable training in advance, first entered and put up in Sydney Olympic Village with the Chinese shooting team, archery team and Iron Man Triathlon team.

The Chinese shooting team is stationed at the southwest corner of Sydney Olympic Village in close quarters of a dining hall and the bus station. The Chinese shooting team and archery team will begin their training on September 9.

Sydney Olympic Village is much better than last Atlanta in terms of their condition. Services are available by over 10,000 attendants, half of them working in the five dining halls of the village. Public facilities are complete, including banking service, supermarket, travel agency, cinema, flower shop, post-office, fitness center, clinics, massage center, and ballroom which closes at 23:00 every night, selling no liquor. The dining hall, with 179 dishes served, can host 5,800 people at a time.

After the Sydney Olympics, the Olympic Village will turn into a new residential quarter and all buildings will be sold at the price of A$ 290,000 (US$ 168,000) to A$ 600,000 per apartment.
