China on Alert of Typhoon

Chinese Central Meteorological Station Thursday released an alarm against the advent of a typhoon.

This year's No. 16 tropical storm, named Wukong in Chinese, was centralized at 18.9 degrees north latitude and 115.4 degrees east longitude at 5 p.m. Beijing Time.

The center of the typhoon, heading for the east sea area of China's southernmost province of Hainan, is estimated to move at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour. The typhoon is expected to land on Hainan tomorrow night or the day after tomorrow.

Under the influence of the typhoon, strong gale and rain storms will hit South China Sea and the coastal area of south China's Guangdong Province from tonight to tomorrow.
