China to Further Regulate Charges by PoliceChina will start a three-month price inspection of various charges collected by police, as of mid-September in a bid to lighten the financial burden on people and enterprises.Wang Yang, vice-minister of the State Development Planning Commission (SDPC), told a related national conference today that the check on fees will focus on items that carry a fee that the state has banned, unauthorized charging of items and overcharges, and other price irregularities. All police and related departments across the country should inspect possible price violations, and the SDPC will also send groups to some areas for direct checkups, the official said. Whoever or whichever department violate laws, regulations, and polices will be brought to justice, he warned. Police departments subject to this inspection include those in charge of traffic control, public security, exit-entry affairs, border security, and grass-roots stations.
