Younger Managers Appointed for State FirmFirst Automobile Works (FAW), China's largest automobile manufacturer in northeast China's Jilin Province, appointed a new managing team, reducing the average age of the managers from 53.6 years old to 47.8.The new FAW managing team is made up of nine members, five less than the last term, and the new general manager Zhu Yanfeng is 39 years old. Officials said the change in the FAW, a state-owned enterprise, reflects the government's change of attitude towards the management structure of such enterprises. The government is making state-owned enterprises more efficient by using fewer and younger managers. More young people have been appointed as managers of state enterprises for their strong sense of competition and creative ideas in the face of the market economy. |
