Zhejiang's Private Businesses Have Big Say in Economic Development

Private enterprises and individual businesses in east China's Zhejiang Province have invested 13 billion yuan (about 1.56 billion US dollars) in local agricultural, and industrial and service sectors during the first six months this year.

This marks a big increase on the 10 billion yuan invested last year.

Statistics show that half-way through this year, Zhejiang's private enterprises numbered over 150,000, and the number of individual industrial and commercial business was 1.56 million, and their economic turnover accounted for about 48 percent of the province's total.

Many of the province's private enterprises and individual employees have invested their money in western China.

At present, more than 300,000 private business people from Zhejiang have invested more than 2.6 million yuan in businesses and factories in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Gansu Province, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
