Symposium Held to Promote Cooperation Between Fujian, Macao

A high-ranking symposium was held wednesday in Fuzhou, capital of east China's Fujian Province, to expand cooperation between the province and Macao.

Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), led a delegation to Fuzhou to attend the symposium.

The symposium was sponsored by the Fujian and Macao Economic Cooperation Promotion Committee, which was established at the beginning of 1999 to push forward official exchange and visits.

The committee also prompted the opening of direct airline between Macao and Wuyishan, a scenic city in Fujian.

Currently, more than 100,000 Fujian natives are living in Macao.
