China to Hold International Expo on Stamps, Coins

The south China city of Guangzhou will hold a stamp and coin exhibition on the theme of Beijing's bid for hosting the 2008 Olympic Games from October 31 through November 3.

According to the exhibition's organizing committee, this is the third time that China has had an international professional exhibition on stamps and coins after exhibitions in Beijing and Shanghai in 1995 and 1997, respectively.

The exhibition will have a display space of 8,000 square meters. Postal and coinage bureaus, stamp and coin dealers from about 50 countries and regions are expected to participate in the exhibition, including Australia, Germany, France, Italy, United States and Australia.

More than 100 provincial stamp and coin collecting companies from China will also attend the exhibition.

During the exhibition, a variety of cultural activities will be held for visitors, and many rare stamps and coins will be auctioned.
