China Telecom Ties with Bank of China to Push E-commerce

China Telecom and Bank of China have joined hands in developing e-commerce and home banking services, officials from China Telecom said.

China Telecom has officially launched the CTCA system ports standard to the public free of charge to ensure the security of public data transfer on the Internet. Currently, China Telecom has set up a nationwide online data security certification system to provide online security service.

Based on success of the first test center, built in early 1999 in Central China's Hunan province, China Telecom and Bank of China have started their further move to apply their e-commerce services nationwide.

Home banking service enables its clients to be capable of account transfer, inquiry of remaining amount and financial news, payment of phone charges and tax, tranfer between accounts and securities exchanges, and online shopping without stepping outside of their homes.
