Xinjiang Attracts Droves of Entrepreneurs in ChinaA lot of entrepreneurs in China have lately been attracted to Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, to explore new ways for their investment - enlarged market in Xinjiang and even new markets in central and west Asia.Guangdong is a province known for its top economic strength in southeast China. It has signed over 120 contracts for developing cooperation with Xinjiang. "Our entrepreneurs hold that Xinjiang poses great potential and wide prospect for developing economic cooperation. On our part, in Guangdong, with opportunities offered, we are duty bound to help out in putting the West development strategy into practice in Xinjiang", said Governor Hu Ruihua at the head of a large delegation of investor entrepreneurs from Guangdong. Zhejiang Province is also no less known for its economic strength in China. It has had 88 cooperative agreements with a total of over RMB$3 billion yuan of contract value signed with Xinjiang. By pouring a total of 6.3 billion yuan into the western areas it has turned out by far to be the biggest investor province known in eastern China. Zong Qinghuo, chairman of Wahaha, a leading soft drink producer in Hangzhou, said they are fully assured of their businesses going to be launched in Xinjiang. With new products, new technologies and new projects well prepared, Shandong organized a huge group of as many as 3000 entrepreneurs representing 540 enterprises in quest for ways for developing cooperation with Xinjiang. Large batches of entrepreneurs have also descended from Shanghai and Liaoning, voicing great interest in investment in many a varied fields as communications, urban construction, light industry, medicine and textile production in Xinjiang. A "Symposium on Urumqi's Economy and Trade" is being held at present in Urumqi to promote the drive for western China's development. Present at the symposium are over 2000 units' representatives from over 20 provinces as well as a large delegation of representatives from 15 cities in Xinjiang. Among the participants have also turned up 42 foreign companies' representatives from the Republic of Korea, Palestine and other countries. "Wide cooperation with investors from the inland will benefit both parties", said Abdul'ahat Abudurixit, chairman of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
