Beijing to Hold Concert Commemorating Late Musician

The Chinese capital will hold a concert this weekend in the Forbidden City Concert Hall to mark the 60th anniversary of late Chinese musician Shi Guangnan.

The concert will feature the most outstanding music pieces composed by the musician, including the "Toast Fytte", one of the most widely known songs composed by Shi hailing the victory against the "Gang of Four" in 1976.

Shi, born in Chongqing Municipality in August 1940, died of a heart attack behind his piano on May 2 1990.

Various Chinese singers who are well-known for singing songs composed by Shi will sing at the concert, which is to be held on September 8 and 9.
