HK Government-to-business Website Takes Off

The Hong Kong government's supplies division has processed about 73 per cent of all tenders below HK$10 million (US$1.28 million)in value through a dedicated Web procurement service since the system's kick-off in April.

The Electronic Tendering System (ETS) has handled 429 tenders worth about HK$578 million (US$74.1 million), or 79 per cent of the total tender value, the Government Supplies Department said in a recent press release.

The ETS allows suppliers worldwide to register and be notified of upcoming contracts online. It also gives companies a chance to download documents, handle enquiries, submit bids and see contract awards.
