Market Share of Home-made Mobile Phones to Hit Record High

The market share of China's domestic mobile phones is expected to reach 15 per cent by the end of this year, 6 per cent higher than that of the first quarter of the year, according to statistics released from the Ministry of Information Industry.

Mobile subscribers in China are predicted to increase 28 million by the end of this year, among which five million are likely to purchase domestic-made mobile phones, analysts say.

China's nine domestic mobile phone manufacturers - Eastcom, Kejian, Xoceco, TCL, Konka, Haier, ZTE, Bird and Soutec - are likely to play a more important role in China's domestic market, analysts said.
