6 SW China's Provinces Jointly Develop Tourism Market

Southwest China's Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces, and the Guangxi Zhuang and Tibet autonomous regions, as well as Chongqing Municipality--all rich in tourist resources, have in recent years intensified their efforts to jointly tap tourist resources and develop tourism, as to gradually make it a pillar industry.

They help each other in tourist promotional activities. When Yunnan hosted the Kunming World Horticultural Exposition, Chongqing Held the International Three Gorges Tour Festival, etc, they all won the enthusiastic support of fraternal provinces and cities in southwest China.

Jointly developing tourist markets. In accordance with the principle of "having a share of resources, complementing each other's superiority, and making common development", the various provinces and autonomous regions have strengthened regional tourist cooperation.

They have increased investment in infrastructure construction of tourism. Sichuan has invested 100 million yuan in developing the ancient Sanxingdui cultural ruins, and is prepared to build it into a symbolic scenic spot of the province's cultural tour. The Sichuan Branch of the Agricultural Bank of China will provide loans worth 500 million yuan in the coming five years to support the construction of tourism. Last year, Guizhou put in a total of more than 12 million yuan for the development and construction of major scenic areas. Chengdu, capital of Sichan Province, will invest 500 million yuan in developing three major tourist projects. And Guilin of Guangxi has decided to spend 3 billion yuan on city reconstruction, adding water to the Lijiang River and development of some major tour projects in the coming three years.
