Grand Wudang Boxing Gathering Called
Scheduled October 5-8, the 2nd China Wudang Boxing International Union Gathering will be called at Wudang Hall on Mt. Wudang at a time of the 650th anniversary of the founding of Wudang martial arts by Master Zhang Sanfeng back in history.
Most known are two Wushu (martial arts) schools in China, "North Shaolin and South Wudang". The coming boxing gathering to be called has been designed amongst others for many a varied purpose as commemorating the 650th birthday of Master Zhang Sanfeng, selecting 100 Wudang boxing masters and spreading Wudang boxing throughout the world.
By now, the Preparatory Committee has invited from home and abroad fifteen famous Wushu personages including Jin Yong, Wu Bin and Li Jie to converse on the coming gathering. So far 28 teams composed of over 670 persons have signed to join in, including 231 foreign athletes from 9 countries as Australia, France, Malaysia and Japan. The rest are from over 20 areas in China. A total of over 1000 participants are estimated.
