New Homepage for China's Top Engineering Body

A homepage for the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) has been put into operation over the weekend after thorough revision and technological upgrading.

Zhu Gaofeng, vice-president of CAE, said the homepage was designed to act as a window to the operations of CAE, the country's top honorary and advisory body in engineering technology.

Zhu said the homepage will also improve contacts and communication between the 10 million engineering workers in China and their overseas counterparts.

Founded in 1994 with a membership of 544, CAE represents mechanical and vehicle engineering, information and electronic engineering, chemical, metallurgical and materials engineering, energy and mining engineering, civil, hydraulic engineering and architecture, agriculture, light industries and environmental engineering, and medicine and health engineering. The website for CAE is http://www.cae.ac.cn.
