Health Most Important to Chinese in Cyber Age

Chinese and other people of the Asia-Pacific rate health as the most important thing in their life, according to the latest survey.

The survey done by MasterCard on the consuming trends among Asians showed that 45 percent of the Asian people polled rated "health" as the most important aspect to their life.

Sixty-one percent of the Chinese surveyed put "health" atop their list. One in five Chinese chose "family and friends" as the second most important.

"Making money" ranked fifth on the list following "work" and "happiness". Only four percent believed that making money was the most essential thing to them.

Feng Weiquan, senior vice president of MasterCard, said that the result indicated that Chinese are still keeping their traditional virtues as they care about health, family and happiness in an age when cyber millionaires occur overnight.

The survey was done among 5,447 people from 13 countries and regions in the Asian-Pacific region.
