Tibetan Children's Art Troupe Performs in Chile

A Tibetan Children's Art Troupe staged successfully its first performance Monday in Santiago, capital of Chile.

The young artists' splendid show, which took place in the Andes Cultural Center, received a warm response and the packed theater was imbued with laugh and applause.

Among the audience were General Comptroller of the central government Arturo Aylwin, Chief of the Andes Cultural Center Eugenio Cienfuego, deputy chairman of the Chilean-Chinese Cultural Center Dario de la Fuente.

"It's one of the most brilliant show I have seen," noted Arturo Aylwin, adding that the children's performance took him to mysterious Tibet and helped him understand the charming Tibetan culture.

According to the program, the troupe will stage four more performances in Santiago and other Chilean cities designed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-Chilean diplomatic ties.

The troupe arrived here Saturday for a six-day visit to the Andean nation. After Chile, they will travel to Argentina, Brazil and Mexico.
