Under the systems, he said, different non-communist parties are uniting and cooperating with the CPC in a joint effort to build socialism. As participating partners, these non-communist parties hold political consultations with the CPC on major issues, so as to materialize scientific and democratic decision-making while supervising the ruling party, he noted. The non-communist parties are existing as close friends and partners of the CPC rather than opposition parties, Wang said. He called it as a strategic task to train young and middle-aged cadres of these non-communist parties and build up a high-quality teams of cadres for the parties. Sponsored by the CPPCC National Committee, the academy was founded in 1956. It was forced to suspend when the "Cultural Revolution" broke out in 1966 and was reopened in 1983. The academy is a united party school of democratic and non-party personages, and a college for the advanced training of cadres of non-communist parties and other prominent figures outside the Communist Party.
