Kusatsu Launches Motor Production Venture in Zhuhai

Kusatsu Electric Co., Ltd. of Japan Monday started a business in the city of Zhuhai in south China's Guangdong Province to produce motors for home appliances with an investment of 12 million U.S. dollars.

According to local sources, the manufacturing venture will be situated inside Qingwan Industrial Zone of Zhuhai, one of China's four earliest special economic zones.

The Japanese-backed business will finish construction, including installation of automated production lines, and begin production in next February. By then, it will have a capacity to produce 1.8 million sets of motors of different kinds, with the annual output value amounting to 200 million yuan.

Party and government authorities of Zhuhai urged concerned local departments to go all out to serve overseas investors.

Kusatsu first entered China by starting up a company in Shanghai in 1993.
