Great Tourism Boom Expected in Beijing

Detailed estimates by departments concerned show that some 2.50 million visitors will flock to Beijing during the seven-day leave of coming "National Day" in October for sightseeing, visiting relatives or seeing friends.

Huge pressure will be meant to exert on without doubt and a great potential will be brought for a growth of the capital's consumer market and tourism economy.

During the several gala days in Beijing, many large business plazas and cultural activities will be open or on, such as the Metropolitan Heads Conference, Olympic Bid and International Tourist Culture Festival. These will be new "hot points" to boost the capital's economy.

Following a unified plan, full intensive preparatory work is being now done by all business and tourist departments and services for the coming of a surging tide of visitors expected from various parts of China.
