Explosion Kills Two in Central Russian Market
An explosion rocked the marketplace in the central Russian town of Ryazan early today, killing two people and injuring at least four others, the emergencies ministry said.
A spokeswoman said by telephone that security forces were investigating the possibility that the blast was caused by a bomb. She said she had no other details.
A year ago several bombs blasted buildings in Russian towns and the country's military has boosted security across its southern rim and in major cities for fear of repeat attacks.
