China to Enact Rules Protecting Intellectual Property Rights on Net

Jiang Ying, director of China Intellectual Property Rights Administration, said at a press conference called by the Information Office of the State Council that infringing on intellectual property rights has become a thing that usually happens on the Internet.

Many countries are facing the problem as how to protect intellectual property rights in this regard. China will enact laws to protect intellectual property rights on the Internet proceeding from China's actual conditions. Infringing on intellectual property rights on net is a new problem arising from technological advances in recent years.

Following the development trend of protecting the patents of gene technology in the world, China is also making an effort to see to it that powerful measures are adopted and laws enacted to crack down on infringements and protect intellectual property rights on the Internet.
