Monoclonal Antibody Technology Developed by China
A series of monoclonal antibody test paper for diagnosing the reproduction health of people have been lately brought into the market in Yunnan province, marking the breakthrough in the technology to enter into a stage of practical use.
Monoclonal antibody is a bioactive substance produced in the cause when human cells identify and resist pathogenic intrusion from outside. Its distinctive identification is widely used in clinical diagnosis and its function of combating causative agents can be directly applied in treatment. It has now turned into a bioactive substance indispensable for modern biological products and clinical examination.
Headed by Dr. Ma Lan, scientists of Yunnan University have, through 10 years' endeavor, mastered the whole set of technology from mass-production of monoclonal antibody to self-production of the test paper for fast diagnosis. So far, the province has already had the ability of producing 20g of monoclonal antibody annually and 80,000 pieces of test paper daily.
Doctor Ma said that a user only have to use a piece of test paper costing few Chinese yuan to put into his/her urine, saliva, blood or other bodily fluid, and take it out in one minute, will s/he be able to know the result 10 minutes later.
Therefore, Yunnan University together with the government of Wuhua District established the Yunda Monoclonal Antibody Technology Company, engaging in the mass-production of monoclonal antibody and research of the test paper for fast diagnosis. Recently, the company will step into developing the test paper for diagnosing prostate cancer, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, venereal disease, AIDS, fetus deficiency and other diseases.
