Chinese Party Delegation Ends Visit to Chile

A delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) left here Friday for Colombia after a four-day goodwill visit to Chile.

The delegation headed by Li Tieying, member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee and president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, made the trip at the invitation of the Socialist Party of Chile.

During their stay in the Andean nation, the delegation met with Chilean President Ricardo Lagos, Senate President Andres Zaldivar and party leaders.

During the meetings, Li and Chilean leaders highly appreciated the development of relations between the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1970.

After visiting Colombia, the delegation will tour Cuba.
