1,000 Chinese Enterprises Vow to Make Good Quality Products

While the revised product quality law was implemented in China Friday, 1,000 enterprises made a joint declaration, promising to produce 100 percent qualified products.

The enterprises pledged Friday at a conference marking the implementation of the new law to upgrade product quality, compete with their counterparts overseas, upgrade technology and set up a market-oriented administration system.

They also vowed to make it their goal to meet the demand of consumers, and provide fist-class products and services. They promised to ensure that there will be no fake and inferior products and no "improper" competition.

The enterprises called on governments, related departments, media and customers to monitor the quality of their products.

Chinese Vice-Premier Wu Bangguo sent a letter to the conference saying that China should further improve product quality and crack down on fake and inferior products.

A total of 256 enterprises and several hundred individuals were rewarded Friday by the State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision for their outstanding services in quality administration.
