Most Families in China's Shenzhen Own Houses
A recent survey has revealed that about seventy percent of families in south China's Shenzhen own their own houses and 20 percent own cars.
The average income of employed people in the Guangdong Province city was 760 yuan in 1979. But it increased to 20,240 yuan (US$2447.4) in 1999, leading all major and midsize cities of China. The survey was conducted by the Shenzhen City Statistical Information Bureau.
