Bosnia Supports "One China" Policy

Bosnia sticks to "One China" policy, reaffirmed Bosnian leaders Wednesday in Sarajevo when meeting a visiting Chinese delegation.

During their talks with Liu Guchang, assistant to the Chinese foreign minister, Zivko Radisic and Spasoj Tusefljak, member of Bosnian Presidency and prime minister of Bosnian Government separately, said that Bosnia will carry out what Bosnia has promised in the Bosnian-Chinese joint communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations and will never maintain any kinds of official relations or conduct any kinds of official contacts with Taiwan.

The two Bosnian leaders said that they both admired what China has achieved in politics, economy and in other fields in recent years. "China is playing an increasingly vital role in international affairs," they said.

Liu elaborated on the Chinese government's policies during the talks. "China supports Bosnia's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity and respects Bosnia's political system on the basis of democratic consultation among the three ethnic groups of the Moslems, Croats and Serbs.

"It is China's established policy to strengthen friendly exchanges with Bosnia and develop the Chinese-Bosnian cooperation in all fields," Liu said.

The Chinese delegation headed by Liu arrived in Sarajevo Tuesday.
