Beijing Reception Marks Vietnamese National DayThe Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Sino-Vietnamese Friendship Association hosted a reception Thursday evening here to mark the 55th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.President of the Sino-Vietnamese Friendship Association Zhao Dongwan said in a speech at the reception that China and Vietnam, two neighbors, enjoy traditional friendship. He said the people of the two countries have been supporting each other for a long time. Since the normalization of relations between the two countries, bilateral cooperation has developed smoothly in various fields, Zhao said. The Vietnamese ambassador to China Bui Hong Phuc said that the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries have developed through joint efforts in recent years. He said that he believes their friendly relationship will continue to grow in the future. Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, Sun Fuling, and representatives from relevant departments attended the reception.
