A Chinese company in western Sichuan Province made major breakthroughs in developing routing switch products, the most essential equipment in internet technology.

Proved to be on par with international standards, this Chinese-made products is expected to pose a challenge to the US-based Sisco which currently holds monopoly of China's routing switch market.

Maipu Information Technology Group, based in the capital city of Chengdu, told reporters that it will realize the industrialization of routing switch production and compete with Sisco in three to five years.

So far, Maipu's routing switches were already successfully applied to some financial, public security and postal departments in China.
