China's Biggest-Ever Military Encyclopedia Debuts

China's biggest-ever military encyclopedia recently made its appearance in Beijing, as reported by the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Daily.

To mark the publication of the book, a ceremony was held in Beijing Tuesday.

The encyclopedia, a key compilation project listed in the nation's Ninth Five-Year Plan (1996-2000), comprises over 50,000 military vocabulary entries and totals about eight million Chinese characters.

It elaborates on the panorama as well as the detailed status quo of Chinese and foreign army forces.

The publication of the encyclopedia will certainly be of great help to Chinese military researchers, the daily said.

The encyclopedia carries a string of inscriptions from top Chinese military veterans.
