China Post Offices Start Wedding-Day Service

Post offices in rural areas of Tianjin, north China's largest port city, have recently launched a new service, using a car to carry the bride to the groom's house on the wedding day.

Baodi County Post Office is the first to start the service. The official in charge of daily business, who is named Tang, said a dozen of newly-married couples had benefited from the service in the last two months, enjoying their special day with minimal costs.

A groom said the new service makes the wedding ceremony simple and affordable, most of the young couples would like to accept the new service as part of the marriage celebration.

Chinese, especially people in rural areas, like to have a luxurious wedding, and often exhaust large amounts of money and resources. The new service will cost a couple approximately 900 yuan (about 108 U.S. dollars) for shooting videos and taking photos on the special occasion.
