Asiatic Wild Donkeys Flee into China from Famine

A spate of Asiatic wild donkeys have been treated as "honorary guests" in China after they fled from famine caused by severe drought in Mongolia.

The Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region has dispatched patrolling teams to prevent illegal hunting of the 20,000 or so wild animals.

Asiatic wild donkeys living on the Mongolia Plateau have often run across the Sino-Mongolian border into China in disaster years. But it is the first time that such a large number have been seen

in the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region.

The wild donkeys have been safe and sound under the protection and hospitality of local government and people.
