Neolithic Period Relics Unearthed in Shaanxi

A collection of pottery ware, bone and stone tools from the Neolithic period have been recently unearthed in Xi' an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

The relics were excavated at the ruins of Longshan Culture, which existed in the New Stone Age.

The relics include small needles, or spicules, each of which is 13- centimeter- long and shaped like an elephant's tooth, and stone knives that are still well polished and quite sharp.

Experts say the artifacts are of great value in studying human activities during the pre-history period.
