Beijing--Lhasa Road Rally Starts on Way

Beijing-Lhasa Road Rally, sponsored by the Universiade Sports Organization Committee, China Automobile Sports League, Beijing Sports Bureau and Tibet Autonomous Region Sports Bureau, has been on its way in celebration of the 21st World Universiade to be held in Beijing.

Nearly one hundred automobile fans, driving 35 Model2020V jeeps, set out from the Tian'anmen Square on August 26. Driving all the way to pass through Luoyang City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province; Lanzhou City, Jiayuguan Pass, Dunhuang, Gansu Province; and Golmud, Qinghai Province, the motorcade will finally turn up at terminus Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, altogether over a distance of as many as 4,800km.
