Autumn Locusts Invade East China
East China's Shandong province has yet to get a break in its battle against summer locusts and now autumn locusts are swarming in.
So far, 213,000 hectares of land has been infested with a density of two locusts per square meter.
Experts explained that the infestation of summer locusts has helped a large number of dormant autumn locusts become active.
The area of land plagued by autumn locusts could reach 330,000 hectares, they warned.
