China Employs New Fresh-Keeping Technique

A new technique, developed by a local scientist, will enable flowers and fruit to stay fresh for as long as a month, almost 10 times longer than the traditional technique does.

Using a vacuum cooling device that keeps the fruit fresh, developed by a scientist with the Shanghai Jiaotong University, the dehydration of agricultural products will be avoided and nutrients will be preserved.

Traditional techniques to keep fruits and flowers fresh is costly, and at the same time easily deforms the edible agricultural products and changes their taste.

The device, however, costs only about one-tenth of the price for the same abroad.

Experts pointed out that the flexibility and convenience in handling the device makes it easy to be promoted.

The Shanghai Xianlu Vacuum Preservation Equipment Co. Ltd. has already started to manufacture the equipment
