Three Killed in Landslide in East China

Three people were killed in landslides which occurred in the city of Longquan, east China's Zhejiang Province, on Saturday morning in the wake of Typhoon Bilis.

Torrential rains have hit the city in southwestern part of Zhejiang over the past few days, affecting 17 towns and villages. Landslides caused by flash floods destroyed 112 houses in Jinxi Township, killing three people and making 77 others homeless.

The floods also collapsed 3,300 houses in other towns and disrupted six highways.

Provincial leaders rushed to the landslide-affected areas to direct disaster relief efforts.
