Xinhua Lashes out at Taiwan Leader's Trip Abroad

China's official news agency, Xinhua, lashed out at the leader of Taiwan authorities for his visit to foreign countries, saying that money can't buy international justice.

A commentary from Xinhua said only three months after his taking office, the Taiwan leader followed the "money diplomacy" pursued by his predecessor Lee Teng-hui, and went abroad with cheques.

The international justice, which Lee has failed to buy with big money, will not fall in the hands of the present leader of Taiwan, the commentary said.

Since the Taiwan leader has been in office, Taiwan has witnessed political, economic and social chaos.

Instead of trying his best to sort out the domestic mess, the Taiwan leader embarked on a cross-continent trip abroad, which stunned the public of Taiwan, and exposed his true colors of intending to create "two Chinas," "one China, one Taiwan" in the world.

Over the past several months, the Taiwan leader has refused to recognized the one-China principle, played the game of words on the cross-Straits relations and vigorously promoting his splittism to the rest of the world, the commentary said.

The Taiwan leader slapped his own face by offering the money of Taiwan tax-payers to his foreign hosts, though he had time and again promised never to engage in the so-called "money diplomacy" of his predecessor.

It has been a fact that there is only one China in the world, and the one-China principle has been widely recognized throughout the international community, it said.

No matter what the tricks are and how much money they are going to spend on the "money diplomacy," the one-China principle will not be altered.

It will only bring disgrace to himself if the leader of Taiwan continues to pursue the path of Lee Teng-hui and tries to challenge the one-China principle, the commentary said.
