Terrorism, Separatism and Extremism CondemnedForeign Ministry spokesman Zhu Bangzao Friday condemned armed bandits who invaded two Central Asian countries. In early August, armed bandits invaded Uzbekistan and southern Kyrgyzstan. The bandits' terrorist activities in the territories have "infringed upon the sovereignty of the countries involved and undermines their security," he said. Zhu said China supported actions and efforts taken by the countries concerned to "wipe out bandits so as to safeguard national and regional peace and stability." He said China is willing to co-operate closely with Central Asian nations and other concerned countries to take concrete actions against the so-called "three vices," separatism, terrorism and extremism. He also called on all involved to "concretely implement the agreements reached in the 'Shanghai Five' summit to safeguard regional peace and stability." The "Shanghai Five" summit is an annual meeting attended by China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. In the July summit held in the Tajikistani capital Dushanbe, all five nations agreed to make joint efforts to crack down on the "three vices."
