Ancient National Map Found in East China

Chinese archaeologists have recently found an xylographic map dating back to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) in Weifang City in Shandong Province.

The map is well made during the dynasty period of Qianlong Emperor and is called "Map of 18 Provinces Under the Heaven."

Archaeologists said that the map was discovered in the foundation of a local farmer's house in the Hangting District of the city.

The map will provide valuable clues for historical study of the dynasty.
