China's Airport Granted Right to Sign Visas

The State Council has granted the Shuangliu International Airport in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, the right to sign visas upon arrival to provide conveniences for foreign visitors.

The service covers those foreigners who come to China to participate in trade fairs, bidding, signing agreements, to solve technological problems, visiting patients and for other purposes, said sources from the provincial government.

The sources said that the Sichuan Provincial Office of Foreign Affairs will sign visas for service passports and diplomatic passports holders, and the rest will be done by the provincial bureau for security.

Chinese travelers also enjoy the service, the sources said.
