CFA to Punish Violators In League MatchesChinese Football Association (CFA) held a meeting for the heads of China's thirteen division-A clubs in Chengdu, Sichuan Province August 23. Zhang Jilong, vice-chairman of CFA, reiterated the rules of the game and remarked that anyone who violates them will be punished without mercy.Zhang announced three regulations to address the frequent pulling out of scheduled matches. First, clubs cannot forfeit a match for any reason. Clubs that do so will be heavily fined. Second, in several matches, referees have been attacked from all sides, causing the match to be halted for an unusually long time. The CFA has requested that clubs do not cause unusually long delays in the match or pull out of the match. Once this happens, the clubs will be heavily fined. Third, no club shall delay the starting time of the match. If this happens, the club responsible will automatically lose 0:3 to their opponent. |
