State to Support Development of Sports in the WestThe State Administration of Sports will support many aspects of developing the sports industry in the West, Wang Xiaolin, director of the Social Sports Center of the Administration, said.The role of the State Administration of Sports in developing the West have been discussed at a symposium in Urumchi on August 21. Wang Xiaolin said, the State Administration of Sports will develop the West in five areas. First, train some a group of talented athletes in the West. Second, join forces with the sports equipment factories to provide sports equipment in the West. Third, organize propaganda performances such as having teams tour the West. Fourth, formulate a policy that gives special treatment. And fifth, continue to provide support and help for the people, technology and so forth. Zhang Faqiang, vice general director of the State Administration of Sports, and Guo Min, head of the group department of the State Administration of Sports, inspected sports in Urumchi and Miquan and highly praised sports in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Currently, the delegations are on an inspection tour in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. |
