Bangladesh PM Reiterates Support for China's Stand

Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Thursday reiterated her government's support for China's stand on the human rights and the Taiwan issue when talking to the newly-appointed Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka, Hu Qianwen.

Recalling the long-cherished friendly relations between Bangladesh and China, Hasina expressed her hope to strengthen the bilateral cooperation in various fields and on international arena.

The prime minister appreciated the valuable assistance of China for the socio-economic and infrastructual development of Bangladesh, citing a number of bridges and the Non-Alignment Movement Conference Center constructed with the Chinese assistance.

"Our relationship is excellent. China is fully engaged in the development of Bangladesh," Hasina said.

Lauding Bangladesh's progress in different sectors, especially in economy, Ambassador Hu reiterated the Chinese government's commitment to the development of friendly, mutual-beneficial and cooperative relationship between the two countries.
