China to Attend European Fair as VIP Country
Shanghai officials will attend the 2000 European Fair in Strasbourg, France, on behalf of China, from September 1 to 11.
This will be the first time China has been invited to the European fair as a VIP country.
The Shanghai delegation, made up of over 70 local enterprises, is the largest of its kind in the city's history to attend an exhibition abroad.
Shanghai will also have activities there to promote its image in a bid to host the World Expo in 2010.
