Student Ambassadors Appointed to Promote HK Overseas

One hundred Hong Kong students were appointed at an appointment ceremony Wednesday as Student Ambassadors for promoting Hong Kong's international profile while studying overseas.

These Student Ambassadors were appointed under the Hong Kong Student Ambassador Program 2000, a program designed to give students who are about to further their studies overseas.

Eric Li, Council Member of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups led the Student Ambassadors in a pledge to do their best to promote Hong Kong. These Student Ambassadors will be studying in universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Belgium, Denmark and India.

The three-week intensive training program organized for the Student Ambassadors includes visits to government departments, public organizations, financial institutions, local businesses and industries, educational and social service institutions, IT companies and infrastructure projects.

The Hong Kong Student Ambassador Program is organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Group in association with Hong Kong Tourist Association.
