Vice-President Meets Cuban Communist Party Official
Hu, who is also vice-president of China, told Juan Carlos Robinson, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and his delegation that the CPC, the Government and the people of China will continue to support the just cause of the Communist Party, the government and the people of Cuba. Leaders of the two countries and parties have kept in close contact over the years. As a result, they have increased mutual understanding and friendship and brought bilateral relations to a higher level, Hu said. Hu thanked the Cuban side for its firm support of China on the issues of Taiwan, human rights and Tibet. He also spoke highly of the achievements the Communist Party and people of Cuba have scored under the leadership of Fidel Castro in building socialism and safeguarding national integrity and independence. Robinson said Cuba has forged a sincere friendship and close relations of cooperation with China over the past 40 years. He said he is confident that under the joint efforts of both sides, the relations between the two parties and two countries will continue to grow stronger. The Cuban delegation arrived in China on Sunday at the invitation of the CPC. | |
